Winter of 2007 saw something quite special take place in the city of Birmingham.

Seth Pinnock, then 16, spent days with his peers in local supermarkets, packing Christmas groceries in order to raise fund for their first ‘Youth Summit’

Little did they know that years later it would become one of the fastest growing Christian youth conferences in the UK.

To celebrate its 5th anniversary this years event will take place on August 5-6 and will return to where it first started, the Bethel Convention Centre, Kelvin Way, Birmingham B70 7JW

Excitingly this years summit will cross generational divides and strengthen community bonds by being opened up for the entire family not just for youth.

From compelling testimonies to economic lectures, faith fuels discussions to career opportunities, orchestras to contemporary dance, morning devotions, Asian marching bands, choirs, rappers and light shows, this year promises to be an inspiring time.

The term ‘Midnight Oil’ speaks of a people tenaciously pursuing their destiny despite life’s difficulties, and unique to all previous summits new innovative schemes will be debuted to capture this.

The journey thus far has been amazing, from packing bags to packing auditoriums. We truly are witnessing something our futures will testify of.

For 5 years Midnight Oil has trumpeted a youth led revolution and this year the revival is for everyone.
